FEBRUARY 2023

The Apple of Our Eye!

Celebrating English apples

February 2023

Hello,

February isn’t known for its great weather but look closer, its more action-packed than you think.

This month, we’re looking forward to tossing pancakes and celebrating Valentine’s Day. The perfect day to book a romantic table or cook for someone special.

And why not bake an apple crumble? These delicious Braeburn apples from Grove Hurst Farm are some of the best tasting apples around. Great for juicing, baking and, of course, eating fresh off the tree.

There are also a few treats in the imported fruit section including fresh Seville oranges if you fancy making some marmalade!

Best,
The County Supplies Team

The Market Chef

The Market Chef

Introducing our new The Market Chef series — a celebration of how to cook with the best seasonal produce, working with some amazing chefs.

With a repertoire ranging from Michelin star fine dining to rustic cuisine, we couldn’t wait to partner with one of our favourite chefs, Ryan Stafford.

English Comice Pear & Burrata Plate
Combining fresh English Comice pears with lashings of creamy burrata, topped off with hazelnuts, rosemary & a sprinkling of truffle.

Winter Caesar Salad
A twist on the traditional Caesar salad – a special Italian raddichio covered with a Bagna Cáuda dressing.

Castelfranco was first grown in Italy in 18th Century but is still as popular as ever – it’s crunchy texture and milder flavour means that it’s great grilled in a salad.

We’re pleased to be stocking tasty black garlic pastes and purees from Jackie Kennedy in Norfolk. Made lovingly in small batches, they have a rich, balsamic-like sweetness with hints of dried prunes and liquorice.
